Nature's International Certification Services is a new organic certification agency founded by David Engel in June of 2005 to serve organic producers and processors/handlers worldwide. NICS is located in Viroqua, WI. NICS employs the USDA's National Organic Program regulations to assess organic producers' (including crops, wild crops and livestock operations,) and processor/handlers' abilities to implement, comply and carry out the terms and conditions determined for organic management and products.

Certification also benefits Nevada's producers and handlers of organic agricultural products by providing an in-state certification service for organic certification. Nevada's law applies to organically produced agricultural products, including fruit and vegetables, fiber and livestock feeds. An agricultural product may not be sold in Nevada as organic unless it is certified organic.
